JuneBugClub was founded by...

Juniper Ernest in the spring of 2008.  Juniper launched JuneBug to merge her love for teaching children with a vision for creating an innovative & flexible service to meet the needs of today’s parents.  Happily married for 20 years and a proud mom of three wonderful children, Juniper has a dual degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania along with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Towson University.  Juniper has taught kindergarten, first grade & fourth grade for Harford County Public Schools.  She has worked at a private preschool & run a successful private tutoring business for over eight years.  She coordinated a local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) chapter for two years.   After all of these important experiences, she still credits her role as “mom” to three children with teaching her the most. 

OUR TEAM

Juniper (far right) is joined by assistant teachers (far left) Miss Sharon and (middle) Miss Danielle. Not only are they amazing friends, but experienced moms and degreed teachers. Sharon is certified in the Montessori method and Danielle has her Master’s Degree as a reading specialist. They bring a wealth of teaching and mothering experience to June Bug Club. We love working together and we love our little bugs!

OUR PHILOSOPHY

learning should be hands-on; the early years are important years; being read to is vital; education should be fun; music, art & literature should be a core part of the early childhood curriculum; great student-teacher ratio makes a difference; a heart for children is key to good teaching; laughter should be plentiful; sparking a child’s curiosity  helps learning happen; good moms need a day off now and again; and bugs can be cute.
